accommodation

Accommodation links. As my mother has kindly compiled some accomodation, I shall link those instead of writing them out here. Note that the last train from great chesterford to cambridge is 10 to 11, although I imagine taking a taxi would be possible, and affordable if room was shared. Any how, the links be here and here.

The community centre does have some parking, and is reasonably close to the church, so if you come by car that should hopefully be ok. Specific directions to follow.

In a phone conversation with a recently married friend, I described where we've got to with all the planning. Apparently we're very far ahead.. he was shocked at what we've organised already! And I'd agree, because I know we are and I'm very glad. I'm not usually organised well in advance, but for events that require organisation, be it venues, outfits, or packing, I much prefer to have more time. I find that stress can be eliminated by just making decisions when there's no pressure. As soon as decisions have to be made in a pressurised situation, I tend to freeze and have no opinion on anything, which is not what I want for myself or K for our wedding. We're very chilled out as a result of our parent's homework and our enthusiastic discussions of everything early on...

We have now made the decision about the photographer. And yes, we have chosen Mr Brown...

The thing I like about him is that, while his prices will be going up a bit, he is very up-front about what things will cost, and in terms of his work, he seems like he's got a lot of experience, of photography in general, but specifically wedding photography. He's probably going to be bossy, but that's better than someone that is sloppy.

I also like the fact that there is an option for our parents to order small photo albums for themselves (6 prints) which can be their own choice.

I'm so relieved that we've chosen now. Here is the website for him.

Before thinking about having a wedding, you don't realise whats out there! It's totally unecessary to know any of this stuff until you need to. I'm determined to be totally relaxed. I'm confident that I will not be a Bridezilla... more or less!

Photographer Dilemma

I only have a quick comment to make really... Why, oh why do all photogrphers do a different thing... It's expensive to hire photographers at the best of times, but a wedding photographer seems to cost anywhere between £600 to £1,700! Geeze!! Also the quality of the cheaper ones is questionable...

I think the photographer is chosen... maybe... a gentleman by the name of Gordon V. Brown. Enjoy that while it lasts! You'd have thought he'd have enough to do really wouldn't you.... ohhh ho ho...the jokes that will ensue!

Tsk!

Stuff we've decided

The wedding is to be the 30th May, at Great Chesterford Church then the reception will be in the community centre. We're going to be having a cold buffee, although we do not know who will be providing it yet, and we shall providing the drinks ourselves, and thus they are free! Which is the best kind of ee.

We will be driven about by a rather classy looking rolls, and will be having a fairly traditional wedding, apart from the notable difference of a chocolate wedding cake. Because chocolate is just so much better.

Also, we're having a ceilidh band play, which is going to be disturbing, but hopefully fun too!
